Las Cruces voted to list of Top 50 Motorcoach Destinations of the last 25 years

Based on a survey of National Motorcoach Network motorcoach charter and tour operators, Las Cruces ranked 42nd on the list, up three spots from the previous year.

"We were pleased to not only remain on the list but to move up a few places," said Ken Mompellier, Las Cruces CVB Executive Director. "Las Cruces is in very good company with some very popular motorcoach destinations."

According to Byways - the magazine that publishes the annual list - motorcoach charter and tour operators were given a list of cities and asked to rank them according to where they think they will be traveling to or through in 2008. The survey has been conducted by the National Motorcoach network for more than 20 years.

"We feel like there are many reasons why Las Cruces is an ideal location for motorcoach tours; we are just glad others have realized them as well," said Mompellier.

New Mexico was one of only five states - California, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Virginia - to have three cities on the list. Albuquerque was ranked 24th and Santa Fe was ranked 43rd.
